This is just a mock up. Those cars will be in issue one if I have anything to do with it! The mag is turning out to be the un-offical HAMB 'zine. This place is the best on the web by far. Blacktop really is by the people for the people.

I'm hoping Jan/Feb. The 'gaydo lookin' dudes' are a kick ass band called Tattooed Millionares. Check 'em out if you like T. Rex style rock and roll.

  4. Wow Randy, The cover looks awesome! Can't wait to see the finished product.

Cars and bands. 90% cars. No how to make your hair look cool or dress '50's. Real hot rods.

Like my momma always said, don't judge a book by it's cover. Or the guy by his tits, or lack of. What the hell was I saying?

LOL :D No offense, would buy the mag though. Cool cars and (hopefully) some music i would enjoy, sounds like a good combo.

  16. well all we have is a cover to judge and the "'gaydo lookin' dudes'" kill it for me....how about just cars with tech and how too's....ditch the band crap..

'...don't judge a book by it's cover...' and you're showing us a cover?

I'm confused, but not about that blonde guy though. Whatever happened to car mags, oh wait, there's CHURCH and The Lot.

The (guy?) with the hat standing in front like a girl looks like Mr. Slave from South Park. I bet they get their asses kicked alot.

  20. Church,The Lot,Rolls-n-Pleats,that taps me out! I'll still check it out though...

The 'zine will cover mostly cars. But rock and roll goes hand in hand with cars. It will have tech like how to build a A/FX car, custom wheeling building, etc. Besides your suppose to listen to the band not want to date them.

This isn't going to be Ol Skool Rodz or what CK Deluxe has become. Trust me. There will be one band an issue and maybe some reviews but not many. So I think you can relax if 2 pages out of 100 aren't cars.

As for HAMB friendly, every car in there is from the HAMB. I'm pretty sure 99% of the submissions are from the HAMB. So I think it'll be ok.

  23. ...I'd try this mag out, that 37-or 38 Chev coupe looks awesome!

I'm not baggin' on your up and coming zine and I've been in bands FOREVER... it's just I'm jaded and those guys look like, well... they look like they would be in the OSR of music rags! It's ALL subjective though so whatever!

Good luck with the magazine man, just try to have a little "variety" with the music section! I'm down with cars AND music, but I agree, the focus should be on cars.

    Alrighty then,
    ns

  26. Well it looks killer with or with out the band thing, but as long as I can look at cars.... I can always roll right by the 2 pages of band stuff ! Sign me up for one I'm always looking for a new rag to read ! The fact that its almost all HAMB cars even makes it better...Viva la HAMB

Trust me it's more cars than bands. By a long shot. And there will be a variety of bands.

More cars then bands is what it sounds like, which is a good thing. Just don't get into that rock-a-billy bull shit every other traditional magazine thinks they need to cover. I'm glad your doing your own thing. This new glam is not my taste, but still being into the glam metal, or hair metal of the past (Dokken, Kix, Faster Pussycat, Vain, etc...O.K., I'm sure enough of you will make fun of that music.) I can live with it.

Where can we buy this when it comes out? Will it be on this forum?

DUDE VAIN!!!!!!!!!!!!!! God I loved that band.

When it's ready everyone here will know about it. And I am trying to stay away from rockabilly. I love it but it's covered everywhere else.
