Ok here it goes. I want a killer logo. Something that stands out, with balls. Please no actual balls;).

Since I can't pay you for all your hard work, you get a lifetime half page ad free of charge. Of course the logo does become the property of Blacktop Graffiti Magazine.

So post 'em here and we'll have a poll or something and vote for the best one.

Cars with balls. Real cars. Honest cars. The current design is a little bland. Needs to be more edgy while still being readable.

I'm not worth a crap as an artist, but I'm willing to drop an idea on this.
How about a Trosley-esque drawing, overhead view, of a flathead or early hemi-powered A coupe, laying down rubber from left to right on a blacktop road or dragstrip. Let the dual tire marks spell out the "Blacktop Graffiti" logo, and you could use it as a banner across the top of the cover.

    Just a thought......Roger

Here is with a little more nostalgic to it. When I first read Blacktop Graffiti, I think of the 55 in "Two Lane Blacktop" and the exact same car in "American Graffiti."

LMK if you want me to change the font for Graffiti or see what everyone here thinks?

    Here's a thought for what it's worth....yeah, I know....NUTHIN'.:D

Envision you getting a famous tagger to contribute a semi-legible "graffiti" instead of the Subway font shown.

At this rate, you're gonna end up with a dozen that you can swap around month-to-month!

Personally, I like this one, with the exception of the font for the "Blacktop" text. It has a sort-of Goth feel to it, and I suspect that's not the editor's desire of "flavor" in the mag. One could also swap around the silhouette for a different feel, too.

But then, I'm just another opinionated S.O.B.

Simplify... you need something way more simple and elegant than that. Think about vintage signs of the 30's and 40's, not bad punk or rockabilly albums of the 90s...

I might give it whirl. Im thinking simple modern graffiti font with a twist of the 60's. Heavy metalics.
