Anybody know who sells these things? I Checked out Egay and and a few other sites, and no luck so far. I also did a search on here and didn't come up with much. I bought a title for my '34 pickup and need to get things goin'.
there was just a thread on this like a week ago,...http://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/showthread.php?t=64784 Mac's sells them along with this dude http://hometown.aol.com/plymouthpartsman/RatRodMacVinTags.html i was hoping to get some at louisville but noone had them with them that i talked to..
Try C & G Early Ford Parts in Escondido, Ca. Sorry, dont have their number. Have bought many from them over the years. They are period correct. Just stamp in your number and mount it.
I am going though getting a title here in colorado- had a number on the frame and no tag in the door, and it has been a nighmare, but I still hope to get this finished by the HAMB Drags. I plan to post what I have learned for Colo HAMBers because getting a straight answer is the real problem! I hear most states are better on old cars than Colo. Rodshop
I have one for a Chevrolet that has the border embossed , holes drilled , and is blank. One will obviously have to stamp CHEVROLET and the vin.
I've used "made up" VIN Tags in the past. As DMV's and police get smarter don't know if I'd do it anymore. Too many horror stories about getting caught. It's a felony offense to mess with VIN numbers & made up VIN tags. Isn't that what they bagged Coddington for? If the Jefferson County PD or Sheriff Department spot your made up VIN tag, you might be spending some time at the KDC. Why not do it the right way and request a VIN through the Kentucky DMV? Its a painless process and you get the KY VIN tag in about a week.
Correct. It bears repeating, old thread or not: NEVER assume that the police, highway patrol, sheriff, or any other law enforcement officer is ignorant of what they are looking at. Follow the law and things will be better, not only for you, but for out pass-time (and the livelihood of some of us) will be better off for it in the long run.
