i have so many 16x5 1/2inch ford wheels that they are comming out of my ears. i want 4inch wide ones. i'm looking at a 16x4 set that i got from stockton wheel a few years ago. they are the stock ford centers with a new wheel rim welded on. where do i get these blank wheel rims from? i can remove the centers from the 5 1/2inchers that i dont want and put them in a 4inch wide rim. its not rocket science. just build a jig from an old hub and spindle and bolt the center to it, tack the rim on and check it with a dial indicator and weld it up. anyone know where to get a 16x4 wheel blank???????--thanks mike
A pair of 16" x 5" Ford rims just sold on ebay for $250. Your 5.5" wide wheels should bring as much or more. I'd sell them and buy what I want. 4" wide wheels are not that hard to find. I will be parting out a 47 chassis. Don't know if the wheels are 4" or 4.5" wide but I would be willing to cook a trade if they are serviceable. I have some 16" centers. Do you know what rims Stockton used to build yours?
