Blast from the past! - 1954 Supercharged Kaiser ''Questions & Answers" ad - from the July 1954 issue of Popular Mechanics magazine. Enjoy! Mart3406 =========================
------------------------ Very cool! Glad you enjoyed seeing the ad ......and hope you found the "Kaiser- Questions & Answers" useful!! How much power do you estimate that K-F/Paxton/McCulloch blower set-up, at 6 llbs. boost adds to your 283??? What other mod are done to the engine? Also, any reliability issues with the stock variable ratio "ball-drive"mechanism? Mart3406 ============================
I've only got a hundred or so miles on it so far, but I plan on racking up a bunch more this summer. So far it's been fun! The previous owner removed the pulley diameter changing guts in the front of the case (and the front half of the case with a hacksaw! ), so it has a fixed ratio pulley up front with a manually adjustable tensioner. I'm honestly surprised a single v-belt is working so well! I don't know how much power it actually added, but the "seat of the pants" feel is a lot different! It's a fairly stock rebuilt 1962 Chevy 283 with the low-performance heads on it. I'd like to add some goodies like a cam and better heads, but that's all down the road stuff.
Here,s a copy af an add for the Kaiser factory they had in Rotterdam. Translated it says " the pride of Rotterdam "
