Technical block numbers question

    Here's a photo of a sbc 327 block I came across earlier this year and am now starting to ***emble. I have no experience with these. Is the letter/number combo to the left of the GM the date code? I understand the numbers under the GM are the block casting numbers. Thanks.

  3. I believe that your ***umption is correct. That is an @squirrel question. Are you building a restoration and need a specific date code? ( that is just a question)

    Looks like the casting date D =April, 16=day of month and next digit or two, I can't read would be year. Could be 64
