I just picked up a disassembled 305 SBC from a buddy of mine , all he knew about it was it was an 86 305 and he wasnt even sure on the year . I was just wondering if anyone could tell me what its from . I found two numbers under the heads first one and more prominant (sp?) number is k06u2d4b the second one which was smaller than the other is 3g2850011 any help is really appreciated I'm just trying to make it easier to get my parts , the monkeys at parts counters are like tits on a bull without all the info typed into the handy dandy computer . Thanks again

None of the numbers sites I went to had D4D for a suffix. It fits into the range for 86 Camaro/Firebird but like I said, they don't list D4D. Might get the casting number on top of the bellhousing flange and look at the Mortec site.http://www.mortec.com/castnum.htm

For the heads, you need the casting numbers from under the rocker cover(s). For the block you need the number cast in back by the bell housing on the top(near where the oil pressure fitting would go). I couldn't make anything out of the numbers you provided either.
