I wrote a thread about Remembrance Day here in Canada and apparently it was blocked. I didn’t mention any car specific points but it was about respecting the day and by inference it would be related to the time when our old cars were relatively new and the guys who came back and pursued the old car hobby. Perhaps I should have included a Corvette, a Spitfire, or even a vintage military vehicle to p*** muster...
It was held back for the both the US and CA here at the Hamb, there were other Threads pulled...without a doubt there were connections to Hotrod/Custom either severed or delayed as a result of the Wars but I guess the policy regarding the remembering is being more closely monitored, reduced or canceled as of late...
This is a hot rod site. That is what we focus on here. There were numerous Veterans Day threads deleted also. The one that survived was about veterans and their cars
it is spelled out in the rules here: https://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/threads/the-h-a-m-b-rules-guidelines.44274/
I understand the rules. I've read them multiple times. I also understand where some of these guys are coming from. I'd be willing to guess that quite a few of these old hoodlums served in their younger days. All I'll say is thank you. Who knows, without the military, we could all be wearing lederhosen, jamming cl***ic polka on the radio, and driving Volkswagen's.
Bottom line though is this is a hot rod site. If you want to do a thread like that it has to include cars. otherwise this place will turn into facebook and NOBODY wants that
I get ya man, I'm on your team. I think so anyway. I don't have a facebook. I have an email address, does that count? Hey is email even traditional?
