So-Gonna buy a blower=4-71,single carb model.Don't ask why plz. Here's some Q's- Heard all kinds of stuff.I will be getting a referenced carb=no biggee. MFG suggests a 950 cfm cause the blower does'nt know what's under it(motor).Motor will be fine and then some, just wondering if it will be too much? This will be a cruiser, and i'm sure it will see 6000rpm at times, but just a driver mostly. I don't want to lean it out(his concern) but I don't want to kill myself with HC"S. Any luck here? Just tryin' to get some truth to the matter, and what works or doesn't. My motor has a ton of good stuff, but a 950 seems awful big.I don't know.I'm sure i'll drop some coin for a new carb, but want the right one. More info can be provided about the car=I'm not scared ! Just need some advise from the blower guys! Thanks!
A friend of mine had a 4-71 single carb. on the street for about 25 years. He had a 750 AFB that was reworked he said to about 950 cfm's. A 350 SBC mostly stock just cam. He drove it every where. My last car had 350 with a 6-71 with two 600 Edelbrock that were stock and I drove it any where I wanted. Just do it nothing sounds like a blower at speed.
had one carb. on my 390 ford with a dyers blower, gary gave me a 650 dejetted to a 600 to run on the street everyday.
Are you buildin a race car or a cruzer? Cause it sounds like you could be builden a pro street nova. By the way nice leg. LOL
I ran 0ne 750 cfm Holley on my 6-71 blown 400 small block for many years.strictly street, with an occasional hard run every once in a while. I recently ran a 750 edelbrock on my 4-71 blown 350,also street driven only.I currently have a 750 edelbrock on my 6-71 blown 350.you dont need anything special unless you are running huge cubic inches and high boost. If you are using a 4-71,I am sure that is not the case. Drive it and enjoy it!!
