  2. From what I can see in the pic,,,,,,as long as the corrosion is merely on the rotor,,,,,and has not eaten away the aluminum,,,,you should be fine .
If you will look at the rib on top of the rotor,,,,,,,that is what matters,,,,,it is what pushes the fuel mixture through the housing .
The rotor should clean up nicely with a Scotchbrite pad and some cleaner .
And check the case for any severe places inside,,,,,,as long as it is sound,,,,,,you should be good for the street .

What really caught my attention is that is not a 6/71 .
I can’t really tell from the partial pic,,,,,,but it might be a 6V/71
Or even a different size blower,,,there were several other sizes in diesel applications .
I know it is a small bore blower,,,,,the rotors are smaller diameter than a regular 6/71 .
And the pattern on the case is different,,,, ,definitely not a 6/71 .
It can still be used for a good street application though .

  3. By the way ,
There are 6V/53 applications,,,,,6V/71 applications,,,,and 6V/92 applications,,,,,and many more sizes with each of those applications .
Those are just a few ,,,,,but all very different,,,,,,and none of them are the 6/71,,,,,,complete different animal .

Maybe I missed it but I don't see a picture from the OP other than the road grader engine picture.

    O P , its not a big issue to take apart ,
If you do so , keep track of shims that are under the rotor gears,
What is your intention of use?
Blower just a air pump , rotors do not look bad , By pic seen worse , & was disassemble cleaned up and ran.
If case rough & end plate are scored as long as you're not running a certain competition Hight Boost application, pulley change,

But also depends on cubic inch of engine and boost levels you are seeking.
Street use 10 psi under 400 inch ,
    No problem,,
By chance have you added up what is needed to install ?
Just off top of my head , been long time since I purchased supercharger /blower parts,,,
End plate $150 ( some times needed change)
    Front cover $80
    Bearing/ seal kit , $150
    Snout $250
    Pulleys $75 each
    Idler plate $150
    Idler pulley $150
A actual Blower intake $400 up
    Carb plate $150
    Bell Linkage $140
    Carbs $150 each used
    Carb kits $25 each
    Rubber band $140
    Bolts / studs $75
    Boots gauge $50
Relief valve and sight glass $80
    Gaskets $60

  7. I put only the one picture on original post as the rotor was of concern. I think I'll go deeper into the case anyways just out of curiosity. I'm including a picture of the blower itself, and a better picture of the 451 engine in my grader. Don't confuse the two. They are two different things altogether, and I have no intention of trying to fit a 671 blower onto the 451.

  8. I'm not a blower rebuilder, but there's some really good videos on YouTube by makercave. He seems to explain and show each step very well. Worth checking out for anyone interested in modifying a blower for gas engine use imo.
