Start with your bottom crank pulley first. Get it all set up where it has to be and that will determine your snout length.

Once your lowewr pulley is installed, use a long straight edge off the pulley face up towards where the snout will be. Measure from your front cover snout mount to your straightedge, and that will give you your snout length. For a 4-71, your snout will be a long sucker, maybe 8 or 10 inches or so.

Once your top and bottom pulleys are set, they you can mount your idler. After your idler is mounted, you can run a tape measure around the belt area and that will give you the belt length.

To find out what pulleys to use with your combination, check out Blower Drive Service catalog or website. They have a chart with blower size/cubic inch/pulley size to get figure boost.

Also, hit teh search function, there are lots of good threads on blower stuff.

    Good luck, -Abone.
