Is this for teh T-Bird with the blown 429 or something else??

Either way..the idea is the same. Cram in the biggest radiator you can fit in the car, force a bunch of air through it and you should be OK.

A blown engine makes a bit of heat under heavy throttle and boost, but shouldn't be a major cooling hurdle just driving around on the street. If your cooling problem all of a sudden appeared with a change in boost, you might want to go back to that.

More boost needs more fuel and if you didn't up the fuel requirement from the last boost setting, your new lean condition could be the cause of your temp issue. Also, engine timing requirements might change due to increased boost levels.

Lets say the engine timing and air/fuel is not an issue...my advise is to fit the biggest three core brass or two pass (1in tubes) aluminum radiator you can fit in the car and make sure your engine fan is positioned in the shroud half in and half out. Or, if you have an electric fan, be prepared to toss it out and spend three times what you want on a REALLY good Spal or some other ball bearing puller fan.

Also, give us some more details about what you have going on...pics help too.

    Good luck, -Abone.

Yup, depends what the car is....how much room is there for a radiator? and which way does the radiator sit?

I recently put a new aluminum cross flow in my 55 to replace the brass one, the new one seems to have more fins etc...same size...it cools noticeably better. And it cost less, $140 from ebay incl shipping. item 330625700273 19 x 34 inches and two 1" wide rows of tubes

    I'm running a blown 454

....one more thing...My pal Squirrel was talking about his new air/fuel gauge. If you could buy or borrow one it would help rule out an engine tune issue. Very nice tool to have stuck to your dash...

Radiator capacity is like horsepower, torque, cubic inches, sex and firepower ; "MORE'S BETTER!"

get the biggest one that will fit. A thermostat will work if you go too far but wasted money on a too small radiator can never be recovered. I hate buying things twice JMO
