Hot Rods Blown Bearing

    Cruisng about 65 in my 36 and a loud bang and little pull to the left - heard metal hitting the pavement - Actually Blew a wheel bearing - anyone else ever done this - Will teach me to pack them every couple of years even with low drive miles.

    no , that's never happened to me...i hope it never does. i always install good quality new bearings/races/seals on both the front and rear even if the originals look and feel ok.

    Never happened to me either.Must have been making noise for awhile before it blew.

    Never heard a thing but I had the radio on and the ac running - to much sound deadner I guess.

    Had a couple-three go. In addition to them talking to me a bit before they went I felt some intermittent grabbing on the wheel. Even felt the grabbing as a p***enger once.
