Event Coverage Blown up 9 inch, Zombies, Desert Center, and mooneyes

This is a movie in the waiting, classic stuff you can't just make up. I think it was smart not to go to the tow lot, if you know what I mean! Thanx for the story, Elpalocko is a cool dude with one of the baddest hot rod trucks to ever haunt the hiways. He drives that baby to the drags thrashes the tar outta the brute, then causually cruz's home like its all in a days adventures. And it is not like he lives two counties away. He is a genuine, H.A.M.B. HERO!! Nice safe brother. ~sololobo~

 

I worked in Desert Center for 7 years at the Cal Fire station. Now Rodger didn't like the fire dept. but he saw me drive a couple different hot rods to work over the years and I got to go through his yard once. He has a hell of a junkyard with old tin. Did you look in the warehouse next to the diner. There's a bone stock model A in there that has probably been there 50 years, along with a train, WWII memrobilia, etc. Good luck trying to buy anything. I tryed for 7 years. He doesn't want to sell anything. In fact, a large gas station wanted to purchase the land, across the street from the newer of the two closed gas stations there, to build a truck stop. They offered millions. The family said no.

Good stuff Ron... you just reminded me of a flat I had coming back from LA about ten years ago and I limped it to the little gas station there in Desert Center. Interesting spot for sure, but I guess a lot of these little desert towns are about the same...
