"Blue Illusion" '49 Buick

Discussion in 'New to the H.A.M.B.? Introduce yourself here!' started by Chromesmokeandfire, Jun 19, 2023.

  1. Hi everyone, new member of the hamb. I'm in search of the whereabouts of my grandfather's (Don Kober) 1949 Buick the "Blue Illusion". My grandfather bought it for $200 and had it customized by Merlyn Berg in the early 90s. The car was in show condition by 1995 and was featured in Rod & Custom and Motortrend. It has a '51 Buick grille, '54 Merc taillights and is powered by a fully chromed 350. My grandfather sold it sometime around 2000. I saw that it sold at an auction in Ohio in 2012 but that's the latest information I could find on it. If you've seen the car or know anything about where it currently resides please let me know, thank you.
