It's the evening of the 4th of July, why am I posting now? Because my dog is camped out under my desk due to anxiety from fireworks, and I'm just sitting here keeping him company, so I might as well work on photos. It's not even dark yet, it's going to get worse. Time to give him some Benadryl....

Thank you very much for posting pics of our vintage sprint car! Was my dad's pride and joy and he passed in April so it was cathodic to get it out to this great event.

OK, disclaimer here for this next one. I know it's not right for this forum, and if it disappears I'll understand why and won't complain. But it is interesting from a engineering perspective, and there is traditional history for multiple engine hot rods/dragsters, though this thing isn't traditional at all.
Hard to make out here, but there is about a 4" wide belt connecting the 2 engines together, driving a single transmission.

 

I am very sorry to hear about your father's passing. Just wanted to say that your experience was "cathartic." ("cathodic" means to provide corrosion control by electrolysis)

My 30 pickup developed some carburetion problems on Friday, so for Saturday I took the 47 coupe. It's nice to have options...

My buddy Jim Lee's 34 coupe. We hit a lot of the local shows together.

Found a good spot next to a 47 convertible

This Chevy, 37 maybe?, dude passed us on the freeway heading to the show, we were running about 70 and he flew by us, had to have been going 80 at least; the sound of that inline 6 at that speed with the pedal to the metal was glorious!
