  1. Any info or pics on BO and his modified

  2. I don't have an pics here, but I saw the car a few months ago. It's in a home garage in the San Francisco area, in very good shape, and complete.

I'm not going to say who the guy is that has it, who knows if it's "public knowledge" or something, but everyone here recognizes his name and knows him to be a 1st cl*** builder and a great guy. So it's in very good condiition and with the right rodder.

There are two, the first was orange with red accents, and the second one was white with red accents. If I remember correctly they both had Chevy II motors.:)

The Jones Lakes Modified started the rebirth of those cars. Art Johnson built a clone of the Jones car here in Connecticut in the early 1970's with a flathead V8. I often wonder were that car is today, last time I saw it it was in a fle market spot at Hershey.

The white car was built in the early 70's, it was yellow with a turtle deck, red Kelseys, (widened 15" with big M/T tires in back) My friend bought it from the builder's widow cheap, sold it to another friend who Put Merc rims and smaller rear tires on it and drove it to work for a while. He then sold it to Bo. Bo took the deck off and painted the car. Now he says he built it, which makes me wonder if he built the first one. Just an observation, who knows, maybe Bo actually built it in the 70's. Sorry for the negativity, I just am interested in the lineage of cars, and don't like them misrepresented.

Was it the modified with a 26-27 body with a 23 style turtle deck that was in one of the mags about 10 years ago at the antique drags or some event like that?

  10. This isn't it. The orange one is a 26/27 touring front half, this one's 28/29. It was in Rod & Custom proably 20 years ago, I have the magazine somewhere. Last time I saw it was Goodguys Pleasanton about 7 years ago, it was from Washington state. It was flat towed there behind an orange 26/27 T sedan. Dean

    Wow,
I was kinda just looking around to if anyone posted about BJ, and his rolling stock of T-Mods. Found this one and several more ;).

Maybe about 13+yrs ago my gal pal @ the time Kenia and I bought what was supposedly the last Bo Jones Modified sold to us by Don Small who lived in the next city at the time.

It was a smokin deal and we kinda ***essed what we actually bought. Bo was setting this version up with a 4.3 and turbo 350, 10 bolt rear end.He made everything on this ch***is down to the friction shocks. It has spokes on it with somekind of 23 T body when we saw pix of it, but we gatherered up parts to do a narrowed 27. still need a back 1/2.

I bought a couple of different 4.3's not too keen on that eng. searched until we a found what he put in the 1st one, so that is what it gets. Now this ch***is sits in the bed of my 77C-Series Short bed. Lots of builds and time has gone down and different relationships have come and gone, But when speaking with Bo at a Throttlers club picnic he confirmed it and I guess one day it will get roadworthy, but still collecting parts. :)>
