Bob Drake Headlight Upgrade

I was recently told that Bob Drake has a headlight upgrade kit for 33 Ford Commercial headlights. The kit is actually supposed to upgrade the light to a Halogen bulb along with a specially designed reflector that is supposed to actually turn the light into a "headlight".
Has anybody used this conversion and if so does it do what it claims?

I put his Halogen conversions in my '38. Been driving it for six years with no problems. The lights don't seem especially brighter than other cars, but they're sure better than the 6V originals. I found that I had to spend a little time dialing in the aim, but it was worth it.

 

I used his kit for a 36. worked great

I don't know if mine are Bob Drake ones, but I have the halagon conversion on my A. They are as good as a modern headlight and I have had many people comment on how bright they are when I have been following them.
The kit I purchased consisted of new reflectors with the halagon bulb holder already in place and the plug and loom for the back of the holder.
