1952-59 Ford body code for my 55

    i am trying to get a window felt kit for my 55 4 door fairlane and the guy wants to know the exact body codes how do i find that or dose someone know?

    Part of your VIN should look something like this. 64C KE BL 28B 297.
    64C is 56 Fairlane Victoria.
    55 Fairlane Town Sedan is code 73C.

    thanks, i can figure it out now and order my felt kit, hopefully.

    humm my vin starts with U5UT, dont see that listed. looks like it should be a 70C or 73C

    Your VIN (data) plate should look something like this. The body code is circled on the second line. Yours should be 73C.
    The numbers you referred to are on the top line indicating the year, engine code and such.

    funny you posted this, i actualy went down tonight a looked till i found the tag i knew i had seen a 73 something on. and it was the vin tag, lol ive got a 73c.

    U5UT correlates to 272 engine, 1955, manufactured in Louisville, Tudor or Fordor Fairlane.
    The patent plate has heaps of info.

    yea i see that with the picture that stig posted, even tells which dealer orderd it. lots of info with not a whole long list like todays vehicles. louisville, ky? makes sense i bought this car form loffolete tn. the guy said he got it from a guy in ky.
