    Hey,

What direction have you decided to go with this repair?
From the photos, other than the quarter in question, it looks like a nice Chevrolet.

This is worth repeating.......... I have seen where a person didnt liste to this advice to find he had to cut it off and start over cause when he put the wheels back on the ground the panels didnt line up...or shut.

You would be better of Replacing the quarter.. That is a really hard hit..
Replacing would give you a chance to straighten out whats in behind, eg: the inner quarter panel and maybe the trunk floor..
    ..

  5. i vote for fixing it. its not going to be easy, but it can be done.......

i know i have 3 left sides. i'll look tomorrow to see if we have any right sides.

You guys talking about pulling it are joking right??? Look at the horrible patch job, cut it out and replace it. By the time you pull it and cut out and redo those patches you could have hung new quarters twice!!! Don't try to be a hero here, save yourself the headaches and some time and replace it.

I was kinda thinking the same thing. IF it was solid to begin with, work the metal back into shape etc...
But the repair work that's already been done is very poor. So, why spend all the time to bring it back out, then have to cut it apart anyway to replace the shitty patch work.
I'm ALL for trying to save before cutting, but.....It's already been hacked in three spots i can see which make up a pretty good portion of the quarter..

Find a solid quarter off a donor and be done with it..

I've seen too many of these good quarters in junkyards on cars without front clips to deal with that Grand Canyon. Yep, put on another quarter.

I'm going to replace it when money permits. The economy is starting to hit the wife and I hard now but hopefully we'll be doing better by summer....

For now i just sprayed some semigloss black over the fender and I'm driving it. I'm just careful how I park it so its not so noticeable.

If anyone has a quarter available let me know. I might have to sell or trade something but I do need one.

Time flies when you are staring at your project! BIG, BIG THANKS to Luke (Monster on here) for helping out and getting me rolling on this project! Here's a ton of pictures. This car had been wrecked and repaired at least twice, We removed and replaced the inner fender, ground out a ton of filler, and prepped the new fender for placement, I'm going back out to work some more on it after I get the pics up.

I finished welding it in today. Getting it lined up was a pain. Sanded all the old paint off and put it in primer. I'm going to drive it like this for a bit since I need to order both front a rear lower sections. Pulled it out and wiped the dust off her, and decided to put on the full moons for a bit:D.

And yes I'm fully aware of the the 54 AND 53 tail lights. Another thing I need to order is some new lenses for my other tail light.
