Any ideas on how to get this body tag to look like new again? Maybe clear over it after a mild soap washing?

A.G. Backeast makes reproduction body plates, I don't think he actually restores the originals. He does do very good work, I have one of his tags on my car.

X2 on this. I've used him too and I was very happy with the quality and turnaround time.

i would leave it alone especially if you are going to put it on the car you are building. it definately would tell me it is an original body and that would impress me.

i like knowing it is real.......

That's what I'm thinking. They made very few of these Nash's in '37, so I want to display this thing in the original location.

It's a little hard to tell from the photo - is the tag aluminum, with a painted background? If so you can polish it up pretty easily with some metal polish like Simichrome. It does appear to be pretty intact.

Once it's cleaned up you can get the right kind of rivets for reinstalling it from A.G. Backeast.

The only thing that is stamped are the numbers, the rest is some kind of silk screening... and I don't want to accidentally wipe that off while trying to clean...
