All my cars are filled with Rage.

Me and my buddies have a little ongoing joke, whenever we're ready to spread mud we say we're going to put some more Rage against the machine.

I've also used Marson Body Light and that USC stuff, and the Bondo brand. That stuff's all about $12/gal around here and it works but it's not as good as Rage.

Another tip I learned recently. If your mud seems too thick in the can, or if it's a little dried out from the top not being on it, put some fiberglass resin in it and mix it up (resin, not hardener!) It'll smooth it out very nicely and make it more workable.

Another vote for Rage Gold....stuff spreads like butter if your use to using cheaper filler.

  3. You can use pourable putties like Metal Glaze to do the same thing if you don't have resin around.

Good old Bondo. I have used that more than any.
    Rage Gold and Rage Lite.
I also use to use duraglass for filling behind fender patches to try and keep the water out, it seemed to work.

Use the keystone brand, as its just rage with a mask on, and its less expensive...

Haha, I'm very close-minded, I tried the Rage Gold and loved it. Haven't used anything but, since. After all someone once said it was made with real bits of Rage, so you know its good.

In my shop I use mostly Evercoat products, Z-grip, Rage are the ones I use the most. I've used their "Lightweight" with the red & white label.. not bad for a budget filler.

I also like their finishing putty with the blue label.. the name escapes me at the moment.

I have used Rage gold and xtreme. They both work well for me, honestly cant really tell the difference between the two. But then again, I have never used them at the same time to compare. good luck.

Nobody has said anything about Platinum. Every shop that I have worked at uses that stuff for a reason. P.S. Not to talk shit, but those who are talking about kittyhair etc. go buy a set of bullseye picks and a metal file. OUCH! The mental picture is UGLY! Here are some pics of something with 'glass before, and then after.

I am not a fan of the Marson Platinum. From pinholes to sanding, not a very good filler. Kinda reminds me of Dynalite.

I use rage at work with great results. I have used Evercoats z-grip and found it to be very good too. We stock marson platinum at work and i have used a gallon and it's not for me. The rage works best all around, sanding, provided it doesn't sit overnite. The painters are very happy with it to, and in this business, happy painters make for happy bodymen!

rage ............its super easy sand, and this stuff called half time is pretty bad ass too

  26. been using platinum for years...will give the rage a try sometime

  27. I use rage Gold and then use Fiberglass resin mixed into the final batch of Rage so it smooths out like glass. Saw this on a Paintucation video and it seemed to work killer.

do you add a separate hardner for the resin or does the rage hardener take care of that?

    I gotta try this,
