I'm on the verge of ordering a ch***is for a '36 Ford I own. It is offered with either a 5 on 4 1/2" or 5 on 4 3/4" pattern standard. I'd like to run my old 1940ish 5 on 5 1/2" 16" steelies. They want about 700 bucks for the odd pattern. Does anyone make the same wheels with the smaller bolt circle? Either way, it seems as if I'd have to shell out the money for the different pattern or a set of wheels.......unless there is a front disc with a 5 1/2" bolt circle that will bolt onto a Mustang II. Anybody?

I think Stockton (but we don't like them) or Paul Paulen might have a wheel that will work for you. Try their site.

And bring me that damn dash. I have one in primer all ready for you. :D

    Whose ch***is?

Get the 4.5" bolt pattern and use some 40's era International rims on it, they're skinny 16" they take a 6.00 16" tire and you can run the Ford caps on them. You can sell your 5.5" Ford wheels to pay for the IH ones. If you can't find those, 40's Mopar wheels are also 6.00-16" with the 4.5" bolt pattern, that's what my '40 Chrysler had stock. Chevy had 6 lug in the 40's so the 4.75" bolt pattern won't mate up to any early wheels.

7 bills to change the BC??? If it were me I'd go find ANOTHER supplier - in my book that's clearly gouging. But then again - I'm goofy like that.

Bad product or long wait time? It's not like I'm in a hurry for them.

Wheel Vintiques sells the wheels you're after

  11. Well guess Im just Ole Skool.
When I found out I couldnt use the 52 merc fronts, to match my rears. I settled for 40 fronts. I sawed, and ground the stock studs flat. made a template form the rears, and drilled and added studs.
My 40 drums now have 53 small bolt pattern.

I looked a bit at Wheel Vintiques, and the series 14 gennie looks like what I'm after. How's their product and service?

I've heard some good stuff about them. One of my rod shops uses lots of their stuff and doesn't have any trouble.

I'm pretty sure the wheels Pops is putting on the 35 are coming from them. We know Pops only buys the best.

Not sure what size and width smoothies you're looking to run, but 98-present S10 spare tire rims are steel smoothies that are 16x4.5 or maybe 5" wide, and are 4.75 on 5. They are readily available and cheap. Just a thought, maybe worth checking out

I got wheels from Wheel Vintiques a few years ago. Very satisfactory service, and product exactly as advertised.

I've been pondering a purchase from them. Glad to hear the service is good, and product is quality. I'm not at all excited about the cost. Thats why i'm still pondering. I want these oddball spokes but they are $600 a pop!!!!!

I've been running their OE Reverses for 6 years with no problems. 60-70K miles.
