    I managed to score these the other day ,runners pads ,harnesses the whole lot ! Does anyone have any idea what they are out of ? seat3.PNG

    These items are vintage original WWII-era military aircraft seats, specifically identifiable as magnesium seats used in the P-51 Mustang fighter aircraft. They are considered rare collectibles for aviation enthusiasts and hot rod builders. The Yakovlev Yak-11 trainer aircraft also utilized similar seat designs.

    Yes , they are going into my 28 roadster pickup lakes modified build BUT using a 27/28 AA truck ch***is (possibly one of UK`s oldest registered AA trucks!, supercharged (Firth supercharger) Mercury V8 ,Muncie M21,5" dropped front axle and a 9" rear. I am currently looking for finned front brakes complete set up.....no luck so far in the UK.

    No, Google is wrong, those are not P-51 seats. Unless CAC used some other seats in their Australian built Mustangs...

    First illustration below is of the Warren McArthur seat, the lower one is of the Shick-Johnson seat from the P-51 parts manual... seat3.jpg
