Hope everything went well. Is the inspection just for VIN#s or does the car have to have fenders and/or all safety equipment?

Iowa guy here also, does the Dot check the car for safety items or just for numbers. I was curious as a friend has a T bucket but doesn't have fenders or windshield wiper, Thanks.

When I got my bonded ***le and plates a few years ago, the inspector was looking at a pile of un***embled parts. When my brother sent in pics of his trucks, they were obviously not operable, and were even missing some of the original '32 safety items (windshield, wiper, lights, horn, etc). So, either we were lucky, or they don't require those items for a bonded ***le. Now, getting it "registered" if the guy doesn't give you plates right away, may require those items later before they approve it. We just got lucky and got our plates the first time.

I began the process several years ago here in Arkansas but never followed through entirely, seemed like a lot of h***le at the time. DMV gave me forms to fill out and told me I had to take the vehicle(s) to the state pd headquarters to have them inspected and run the vin(s) through the database. Since the vehicles were inoperable I took the vin(s) to the state pd and had them run. Got my all clear papers and called the dmv in Little Rock to be sure I had everything and to ask how the process went once I mailed in my forms. The lady stated that they would review my forms and send me back an appraisal on the vehicle(s) that I was to take to my insurance company where they would figure my bond amount....this is where it all got a lil off for me. I '***umed' that appraising something like oh say, a vehicle, would require that one actually see the vehicle! In my ignorance I asked the lady "how many pictures should I send with my forms?" to which she replied "we don't need any pictures." I politely asked her how exactly they could put a value on something they haven't seen and she replied "we have books." Alrighty then, I played along and sent in the forms just to see what I got back. To my astonishment I had a couple parts cars that the state felt were worth ab 12k together lol. Shortly afterwards I found out that I didn't need to go through all that to get ***les on them so I went another route but that law has since been done away with so now the bond deal is our only option here as well.
