I was ther on saturday. I was afraid Bonneville would be grouchy old men not wanting a wanna-be around but I was very welcomed by everyone. I Had to leave and head on west so I was ther only one day. I am saving some money for next year so I can spend several days there. I was very imressed with the safety and laid-back atmosphere. Next year i'm running my cobra (fake)!
I believe that's the car that had the drivers door open at speed 20 or so years ago at speed week. Pulled it into the mile marker. Made quite a mess of it.
Looked like a good showing.. I ran into you and your friends fueling up outside Las Vegas at Loves. The 32 was beautiful.
The "Black & White Bar" (previously known for decades as "The Hideaway") was closed Saturday afternoon when we went by.
Decades ago, I was hanging around with George Scott and a couple of other guys at SpeedWeek. George had a real nice restored VW Thing and the 4 of us went on down to The Hideaway that evening. We got parked, looked around and decided to bring the valuable 4 doors inside with us for dinner. No problem.
