I can program the machine to run into the clamps and break the end mill, just about 100% of the time.
Out of time this morning - Love the F head 6 & would love to see a lot more of how you put that together. Will be searching your stuff closely when get time tonight.
Great photo coverage! Thank you for taking the time to share with us. As to bare feet, I think I remember the salt actually being cool to the touch......
Its strange to think who I stood next to or walked past or even photographed on the salt without knowing. JW
A bit late. Had a great time. The sidecar ran to 130 according to the tach and then hurt a piston. No bad times on the salt.
We were there! although it wasn't our best year it's always a good time. Had a couple of bent push rods on the very first pass and only made it to the first mile. Fortunately because of that problem we were on the return road as they announced that Danny Thompson was leaving the line so we were at a very good vantage point to see him make his first pass with an exit speed of 416 mph. (a number I am quite fond of) After fixing our little problem we were back out to make another pass, this time it was complete although the engine quite accelerating at 6100 rpm so I entered the third mile at 138 mph and exited it at the same speed. Running a little fat according to A/F ratio. Next it was time to let David Gadberry, one of our crew, get his "rookie" run out of the way. Over on the two mile rookie course he managed a very respectable 130+ mph while taking it easy on the throttle. Got his "rookie" pass and a "D" class competition license all in the same run. With David's run under our belt I felt it was time for some better speed so with a jet change I made another pass but while accelerating through the 2 mile the top cooling hose blew off shorting out the ignition and making my tach read all kinds of funny things in the cab. Long story short, the hose blew because a head gasket blew and we were done for the week. Good times with good friends make it all worth while. David after his "Rookie" run. All smiles. Ran into these good folks from Idaho. Jerry Watts our good friend and top crew man in his '50 pickup. Bryan @criminal with his wife Sandy, great to get them out there this year. It's not a swap meet out there but I did manage to buy this coupe body to replace the rusted out one on my TROG coupe. One last picture from Michael Harrington, always the best shots.
