Event Coverage *BONNEVILLE Speed Week 2009 - LIVE PHOTO UPDATES HERE!*

I really wish I would have been a little more social and met more of you. I'm pretty quite when I don't know people. It was nice to meet the few people I did meet. I think I talked to Nick for a minute but I'm not exactly sure if it was him or not. Thanks for the pictures!

 

Hi Nick...Thanks for the shots of EJ Kowalski's roadster and the update on George Roseland and the South Omaha Gang. I used to spend a lot of time with those guys back in my Speedway-Lincoln days. Really looking forward to the rest of your photos.

well this is my final update. i'm still here. leaving tomorrow early in the morning. everyone and everything is off the salt. i still had cars rolling in for inspection yesterday so this event definitely goes on for a full week. poteet and main had a best one way p*** exit speed of 401. i had a good time and working for the full week is a LOT easier without having a car to run but the perfect salt really made me wish we would have brought the lakester. oh well, we're going after the record at el mirage in october.

Nick, Thanks for the Bonneville coverage, you have done a fine job. It was good to see you ,HRLC , and meet your dad. We got home last night and cleaned some of the salt off the car and trailer. Today we worked on the Henry J [now called the "OKIE TWISTER"]for the HAMB drags this coming Sat. Another great week-end comming up. Life just gets better and better.

You people who talk about going to Bonneville, start right now making plans for next year. Find some buddys to help share the expense and GO. Camp out ,what ever you have to do, but just go. You will never regret having gone. Who knows you might get bit by the Salt Bug.

We left for Bonneville on Tuesday the 11th and got there Wednesday pm. Never been before-next year we'll get there Sat. or Sun. It was everything I'd ever heard it was. No pictures can do it justice-you gotta be there. We hope to build a car for next years speedweek.

 

Malcolm - I finally found the tank pic i've been looking for. I've been searching for all week. It is pic 111 on your photobucket site. Is there anyway you can help my and post it here as a jpeg pic. I just don't know how to do this.
