We (me and the crew) will be there with my 4-banger Hemi Model A roadster, F/Fuel Roadster #199. Look for us in the pits and come say hello.

This will be my first year going, my wife and I are traveling from Kansas City to spectate and then drive on up to Oregon. Is there pretty good racing all week weather permitting? We will only be able to make it the 7th-9th.

Most of the activities are during the first few days, but there are runs all week. Check out the pits, park somewhere along the long course (maybe at the 3-5 mile area) and watch the action pass by (ask around for the AM or CB broadcast channels) and if possible hang out at any one of the the start lines and take it all in. Check out the info at scta-bni.org for a spectator primer.

    Enjoy!

Typically, the majority of the action takes place the first 3 days. Most teams have new equipment, and want to prove it as soon as the event starts. As the week progresses, the records are set, or not, or the engines get blown up. Later on, the well funded guys who didn't make their number, or the late guy, or the guys that made some ad hoc repairs, are still going. So by the end of the week, there's a lot less teams still active, but still may post some big runs. Also, the weather is huge, can delay action several days. No place else like it, something for everyone. Wear a big hat!

Things really quite down near the end of the week, but any time on the "Salt" is special! Hopefully we are still getting after it, feel free to find us in the pits, we have plenty of shade or at the start line. Always willing to BS with fellow H.A.M.B.E.R.S.
Invitation goes out to others as well!

Always something to watch. After Sunday most of the r r’s are gone. Later in the afternoon there are streamliners that like to run…. Most teams in the pits are always busy but take time to say hi, ask where you are from, etc if they aren’t thrashing..impounds are busy for their allotted time then sit and shoot the s**t and have adult beverage…There are many engines you don’t see in any other racing venue because they can be competitive in the class they chose…ours if you find it… JMC_6687_J.D. The last time I was there (52years ago) I was on my honeymoon. Still have the same wife but the belly tank is gone. Salt was so hard and deep I bent the tent stakes while driving them in.

Was out there Saturday afternoon - thunderstorms - Wendover got drenched & Floating Island got drenched - the track didn't receive a drop! Sunday was hot & clear - they were well underway grading and inspecting the track - salt looks to be in the best condition I've seen in 4 years. Weather is upper 90°s ~ 100° with clear skies - should be near perfect conditions for racing

I sent out a message this evening, Thanks for the reminder. I wasn't planning on going this year, and the Girlfriend asked if we could go to Bonneville again this year. (I know ,Right? what a keeper) I thought I might kill two birds with one stone.
