contact the Montana Dodge Boys directly from their site. I'm sure they will get back to you. They set a new record AGAIN at 174.

I was able to spend Monday out on the salt. My first time being there. I met with Scott and some of his buddies. Nice group of guys. It was fun to shoot the breeze with them. I spent most of the rest of the day on the starting line of the short track where I was able to borrow a little bit of shade from some nice fellas. I moved over to the starting line of the long track for the last hour or so.
Very cool. Lots of great cars and motorcycles, lots of great people!!!

Truly and amazing place and event.

Watched off and on again today.
Speed Demon made a record attempt with their B engine - went 459.
Had chute problems and ended up in the mud between 9 and 10 miles.
Guess the whole team got stuck.
Impound visit and record return had to be made by 4PM, which did not happen.
    Better luck again tomorrow.
If it was easy, everyone would do it.

Also, lots of fuss on live chat by Alex Taylor fans. I had no idea who she was. Yesterday, someone told me. Now I know, but IDGAF.

That poor seat cushion. Hopefully everything turned out ok.

    I will!! Thanks
I was in the pits for a little bit, but yea, I plan on spending more time there next time I make it out. There's just so much to see everywhere it's hard to take it all in.

I believe from what I have read on FB, the left rear tire failed.

This year was my second, but not my last! My pal and I had an absolute blast.

  15. The tire only failed after I hit the four mile marker. It was a spin plain and simple. Would have been just fine had I not hit an obstacle.

Good to see you out there. We'll be back next year.

Half asleep time and I didn't check over the post before I posted it. It probably should have been 8:52.

I briefly met her in the staging lanes. A very nice young lady and a true racer. I thanked her for helping to foster interest in racing among young people….which we all know we need.

Or perhaps 8:28? No worries. I’m terrible at proof reading my comments until I see them a second time and them I sneak in an edit...

What a week!. Problems getting to Bonneville and then, we had water in the oil after a run, ended our attempt at a record. Hope it's just a head gasket and not a cracked block. Banger motor running V4F/GMR. Will tear her down at home. "Fun Meter" went to the bottom. Great week but man it was HOT! After sitting in lineup for hours my water temp was already 150 before firing it up, and we don't have a radiator. 12 gallons of coolant though. There's always next year ;) Post Run.jpg NO FUN.jpg

  26. @"Wally" it was nice to meet you! Sorry to hear about your engine troubles.
The #836 car I was helping out with had engine problems as well....never did get to make a run.
I left Tuesday, couldn't take the heat anymore

Running only 2 courses rather than the "usual" 4, looked to making long lines. Don't know, but I'd guess, there wasn't any useable space to run the customary pair of 3-milers.

Actually the salt was really good this year. The lack of additional courses was due to not enough volunteer's to work any more courses. The lines were long for a couple of days but by Tuesday as would be expected due to parts breakage the lines were a lot shorter. Another thing about this year the temps were over 100 every day heck on one of our runs the time slip temp was 102.9.

Thanks for the pics. A friend of mine from SoDak, (Randy) is a partner in that 276 car. According to the posted results they ran 174+ on Monday but I was told engine trouble sidelined them the next day so they were done. I'd still really like to get there some day but then I'm afraid I'd get hooked and have to keep going back..... ;)

The lady can drive. Watch some of her videos on youtube. North of 230, tires slipping, one hand on the wheel, the other on the shifter, backs off for a second then right back to the throttle.
