Great to meet up! Yea alot of folks had problems, salt was good though, wish I had my other car there. Line-up was tough waiting in the heat to run. Bonneville in August.

Checked out your brother's car in impound, pretty impressive build! Tell him congrats! There are a couple photos I took of it in my link above.

Does anyone know if that '50's Buick with the straight eight that was at Lonestar run? I believe his granddaughter was driving it now.

Esslinger posted a dyno of a 3L Pinto engine at 55# of boost making 1220 HP at the wheels of a streamliner. I'm curious how it did but don't know team name.

  13. Bombshell Betty was at the 2024 Lone Star Roundup. Looks a helluva lot better than it did the first time I saw it on the salt in 2009.

We averaged 189.387 mph on this pass. GPS showed 191.4 mph and climbing when we suddenly lost fuel pressure from a port nozzle hose that came off at the crimp. Ended up with a small engine fire that mainly burned anything rubber or plastic that the fuel sprayed on. I've already got the damage mostly repaired, and we are going to try to go back to Bonneville next month to hopefully run over the 204 mph F/Fuel Roadster record.

The roadster has a naturally aspirated 179 ci Rodeck/Emery (392) Hemi 4-cyl on fuel.

That's pretty scary. Do you have a strategy for making sure that that doesn't happen again? The reason I'm asking is we're putting fuel injection on our Land speed car with crimped fitting hoses for the injectors.

Yes, I already replaced all the rubber hoses with 37° flared stainless hard lines with -3 AN sleeves and nuts.

We run a lot of fuel pressure, so your results may vary. The Parker fuel hose we ran is rated for 500 PSI, but it appears that the crimp on one hose gave out at around 300. Pushed the hose off the barb underneath.

Tough week for my homies. A spin, short flight , and hard landing at about 240MPH ended our week. Ted walked away with lots of bruises. Picture before the crash of 1149 at the top of Sodbusters post.
