IMG_1715.jpeg I didn’t see another thread so I thought I’d start one. Man, I wish I was there right now. It’s plenty hot here in Arkansas today so I might as well be standing out there on the salt flat. I would love to just drop everything, get in the car and go. I have been at 170 mph for about half a second in my dragster before pulling the chute. I would love to keep the foot down and let 1000 hp fly for 5 miles.

This year I’m rooting for HAMB’r Brian Bass. He’s put a new, I think around 300 ci early hemi blown-fuel in his roadster. How fast will it go?

  2. Well, I know one thing, he can’t drive 55!

One of my creations has made it to the salt, and passed tech. It's got a Blown Alcohol ARDUN. Looking for 250 !

Havnt heard reports of track conditions but it sure looks dry in all the photos I’m seeing.

TONS of hot rods are there already and more seem to be making it there by the minute looking at posts online. Here’s hoping for a safe FAST week for them!

Flying out Monday for work. Hope to sneak over to the salt on Weds or Thursday.

  6. Pulling for @D-Russ and the boys on Team 640 as they debut the Jimmy 6 in @john mullen 's Virginia HAMB Special!

EDIT: The VA HAMB team ran the 262 Ford 6, not the Jimmy! Makes the record even better!

    Let'er rip, Dave!

Me too…..it’s also a tough engine class as they all seem to be now!

  8. The new engine in Brian's roadster is a blown fuel 296 Hemi with all eight cylinders.

My buddies are there with a Roadster...the text I got late yesterday was 'the salt is rough and loose' and there were strong side winds ....
They were hoping for no wind today
They are hoping for 330 mph

Brian Bass went to 245.89 miles an hour on the 241 mile an hour D/BFR record. That was his first pass just feeling it out. There’s more left in it.

  19. I was watching the livestream this afternoon, and I just stood there, staring at screen. Hope the driver is okay; that was quite the flip.

Same here. Just stood there with my mouth open staring in disbelief.

Thoughts and prayers go out to the driver, family, and crew.

Sorry to hear that bad news. Nobody wants to hear that. As for the question on Brian‘s nitro percentage, I just don’t know that sort of detail. I have talked to him a bit about the car. He just built a new 30 gallon fuel tank. That is a work of art to fit in every available space upfront. I imagine it needs just about that much fuel for that 5 mile trip

  26. Well now, that just plain sucks. My prayers and condolences to the drivers family and friends.
