I got the brake lines back in the car. I love the contrast between the stainless and the black.

I got the clutch all put together and the transmission attached to the engine today. Then I got the motor installed in the frame.

Then I took off the old spark plug wires and started running the new cloth wires. I plan on running the original style tubes that the spark plugs run inside of to clean up the mess.

Im ordering a bearing and race kit for the quickchange. Should be coming soon. Then I can assemble the quickchange and get the rear suspension put back in. Everything for the rear suspension is painted and ready to get back in the car. Im super excited cause then i'll have a roller!

Ya its hard to beat black! Plus my goal with this rod is to make it look like it was just an original sedan that a shop took everthing off they could and made a race car. So I just wanted to keep the frame stock black. Plus i'm hoping that it helps the black in the body stand out too.

I didn't want an all black car this time. I wanted to experiment with painting it with an original paint scheme, and I've always been partial to washington blue with the black belt lines. With how aggressive the chop and stance is on this car I think it will have a neat feel instead of just painting it with a hot rod paint scheme. But the frame would have been painted black.

This would make it THE baddest tudor ever! It'd go really well with those yellowish wheels too.

Oh man, you know what you should do? You should... just keep on building it EXACTLY like you intended. You have more talent, skill, and vision than most of us here. Who am I to tell you how to build your car? :D

In order to get the arm for the clutch to line up with the clutch pedal I had to move it away from the transmission. So I had my machinist buddy up the street make me the extension sleeve with a brass bushing. Then I welded an arm to it that bolted to the side of the transmission so that it would support the end of the shaft. Finished it all up and it works great!

I see what your saying. It will definitely move with the motor. But its originaly designed to be right next to the transmission on the same shaft. So originally it would move as well. Only difference I can see is that mine will move on a little more of an arc because its farther away from the center of the transmission. But I dont think it will cause any more issues then if it was in the original position.

I worked the other day on getting my quickchange put together. It went together actually really well. I just have the end seals in the housings to put in and its ready to put in the car.

  19. Why did you make this cut-out in the transmission crossmember so tight around the shifter housing? Looks like it's going to be rattle city with the engine running.

Its kind of deceiving from that angle but there is about 1/4" of gap around it. If there are any part of the trans that hits i'll just trim it back a little and touch up the paint.

I plan on just painting it by hand. The engine and trans are above the bottom of the frame so even if you were on your back looking under the car its hard to see the trans. So i'm not to worried about how it looks. Ha

I finished up the quickchange and got it back in the car. Got the rest of the exhaust bolted in as well. Then I took some webbing and got that on top of the frame with all the holes cut for the body mounting. Nice to have the frame rolling again.

One thing I did on the quickchange was I safety wired all the studs and nuts together. I didn't want to take a chance of having either the stud or the nut back off. Plus I like it, looks like it belongs.
