Love the work on the Pitman arm. Some people think you have to make a big song & dance when it comes to detail, making it obvious that they've touched the part, you've got it sussed though, it looks factory Ford.

That fake nut/stud idea on the Schroeder pitman is ingenious! Looks great!

Thanks, nice to have it finally mounted.

I was trying to figure out what I could do to make it look more like a ford unit. Hopefully it just blends into the rest of the car now without looking out of place.

I got the drag link made and got it bolted on the car.

My buddy got me a wire loom set from a 37 Flathead he had. I had to heavily modify the tubes to redirect them to where I wanted, but it worked out clean. Then I re-used the spark plug wire ends. Just wanted that original feel.

Its been hectic here getting ready for my wedding next week. But I did get the hood tops and grill back on the sedan. Ill put the hood sides on later when 'not needing to get in and out of the engine compartment.

Then I took the louvered roof insert out and used muriatic acid on it. It took the new shine away and gave it a chalky appearance. It also brought out the grain of the aluminum so its got these distinct lines front to back. Looks more natural on the car now.

Ha, thanks. I'm super excited! She loves that I work on cars, and wants to be involved with me. So looks like I found a keeper.

Love the car! How far back is the spring from the front axle line? It looks like around 4"?
    Thanks

  23. Your thread has totally inspired me!
I've owned my 31 sedan for about 3 years now and have bounced around from idea to idea on how I wanted to build her.
My latest thought process was a traditional unchopped full fendered build, but after reading through your thread i've seen the light!

Good luck with the marriage and the sedan. You certainly have a lot to be proud of in your life.

Not much has been happening on my sedan lately. I've been pumping away on the 33' phaeton, ordering parts, and getting it mocked up. I'm trying to get some more things to sell to put money back into the business, so that's keeping me really busy. I've got a 36' 5 window coupe that needs a bunch of sheet metal work that I plan on starting on. Something that I can turn around and sell.

Thanks for all the kind words on the project. I appreciate it. I'll keep all you guys up to date.

So my client was gracious enough to offer to help me out. He wants to see me drive my sedan around out there at Bonneville. So that's the plan!!!!! I'm spending all my time on my car to see if I can get it running. My buddy helped me on Saturday and we got all the engine gaskets on. I decided to go with studs on the heads rather than bolts. Then I worked the other day on getting the radiator hooked up. Also got an aluminum drive line made.

I just have to finish the brakes, the gas tank, get gl*** for the windshield, and wire it. I'm so close I can hardly stand it.
