My dad p***ed this down to me a few weeks ago (Dad is fine, just getting up there) and we just got it home and into storage for the winter. 66 Pontiac Bonneville convertible! It’s been in storage for years, was my Great Uncle’s new until he sold it to my Dad sometime around ‘77. It needs some attention, but not much. Really looking forward to going through it this spring and (hopefully) cruising it this summer!
Bonneville, where's the salt? I really like the mid 60's Pontiacs, and this is my favorite color for '66. Nice car. Have fun driving it.
Make sure to check over the brake hoses. It's the rubber you don't see that'll get ya! I found the best deal on White jeans is a painter's supply. Got mine at Sherwin-Williams.
Great car. Unmolested, family history, can’t beat that. Cruise the canyon to Yakima with the top down, or pull Manastash without breaking a sweat. Enjoy.
You know it! I’m thinking maybe one of the Yakima Ave cruise nights if they have them again this year.
That's a 66. Likely made in the fall of 65 but sold as a 66. The headlights are different. Look at 65 and 66 FS Pontiacs.
Guys, I’m just guessing here. But, I think he probably knows more about this car than we think we do. Here’s my 60.
Looks like a really nice car. Unless you know for sure the timing chain on your Pontiac has already been changed, I think I would replace the timing chain on it. That era Pontiac had issues with the plastic on the cam gear self destructing over time, or nearing 100,000 miles. I would not ***ume the timing chain is good, even if its not near the 100,000 mile mark, time kills them as well.
Yes, do the timing chain and the oil pump while you're in there and that old Poncho will run for a very long time. Honest.....Mitch. P.S. I really like your Bonny...
