We ran the 4 ever 4 Club's lakester this year, setting a new recored in V4/BFL at 161.991, taking Old Crow's old record of 147. Engine is a Cook rocker-arm with an early Buick turbo and running on straight alky. Lower end is a B block/C crank with babbitt mains, Eubanks rods, Ross pistons. There's more in the engine, if the lower end can stand it? The salt and weather were both great. Quite a few bangers running this year although not as many as last year. I've been having trouble posting, so am not sure where this will end up. I do a search and go to "banger" most of the time.
Congratulations on the record. I know how difficult it is to run and then to break a record on the salt. It seems to me that this class would be very competitive. John
Thanks John, Blown classes aren't being run by many guys, which is good for me as it is taking a lot longer than I'd hoped to get it up to speed. I think there is a lot more in my engine but will need to build a 5-main crank engine to be really successful. In theory a blown engine should go faster than a normally aspirated.
