OK, with the winter upon us here in the northeast, I've sequestered myself away in the garage in an effort to sort out some of the details on my AV8. Today I'm addressing the installation of a combo Vac/Boost gauge to keep an eye on my 471 blower. Here's the issue, this is an afterthought, as alot of things are when building hotrods, and there is NO drilled/tapped ports on my intake. I know the right thing to do would be to take stuff apart and properly drill & tap...but I have come up with an idea that I need your input on. What IF I were to simply remove the rather large plate on the pop-off valve and drill & tap THAT to accept a fitting, and then using my 1/8 nylon tubing AND leaving a loop close to the intake, connect my boost gauge....? That loop would allow the pop-off to move WHEN needed... Below is the gauge I'm working with and hope to find a creative way to mount it on the dash. Your thoughts?

Although a bit unconventional, tapping into your pop-off plate for a vac/boost gauge port should work fine.
    Interesting gauge. Looks kinda industrial.

The gauge, from what I have researched, is a 1936 Continental service gauge....in perfect condition
