I just figured if your Dyno tuning it...you might as well tune it with a tunnel ram and two carbs...or change it later and start over...Quains rules won't get looser...

I'm serious...I know how much tuning you want to do, so do it when you can see the results consistently, not on the strip where you may or may not shift it like a grain truck or Ronnie Sox.lol

That's what I was thinking and if you really want some power bolt on one of those vintage weiand or cragar belt driven air cleaners with the injector

  10. Not sure what kind it is I bought it probably 12 years ago and only used it maybe 2 times now that I bought a tipping die I will be using it a lot. I really want to try to pleat my tin on the door panels so might be trying that next

  11. Can't do a blower with Southeast Gasser rules N/A only. Art and injection would equal fail because he doesn't like to mess with it just wants to get out the pimp juice and polish that baby up all the time lol

  12. Got my clutch Z Bar and clutch linkage all made. Made it all out of chromoly. Had to modify the clutch fork to use a heim instead of the ball style it had stock.

  15. Thanks I am doing the best I possibly can building this car. I am really happy with the way it's turning out. These pictures were taken last sat and believe it or not it was 50° out. We have only had one snow fall so far it was 17" and was gone in less than a week. Weather has been great this year I don't care if I ever see -30 again lol

What happened couldn't find a Ford steering box to work?

  17. I actually gave bigslim55 the ford box off the car. I went with the aluminum reversed corvair box because it was the lightest box I could find. It was probably 4 pounds lighter than the ford box. I have been telling everyone every ounce counts on this one the car should weigh about 2500 pounds with me in it:eek: so I have to save every ounce I can.

So I had Milton bend me up a pipe for my dropped crossmember...I was thinking it looked a little weak when I had it mocked up, so I sent this pic off to a few guys I trust. Quain said he would mount the center pin of the spring as close to the crossmember as I could...so the one in the car is actually plan "C" ImageUploadedByH.A.M.B.1450317144.165851.jpg

Well after getting the crossmember in place, we slid the motor in to see how much room we gained...not enough.lol ImageUploadedByH.A.M.B.1450317319.037209.jpg
The engine is farther back than I had planned, but without redoing the crossmember and mounting the spring in front of the axle...or having the engine sit way too high in the frame...it's what I'm going with.

Monday night I had Jeffery stop out and him my brother and the Old Boy plopped the body on... ImageUploadedByH.A.M.B.1450317485.637580.jpg
The dash actually wanted to sit on top of the valve covers once the body was where it went...so I'm not going to have the standard 55 dash, but I am keeping the "eyebrows"... ImageUploadedByH.A.M.B.1450317582.486941.jpg
Tonight I chopped out more of the factory firewall and fit the TLB Weiand intake that I got from the Pannetons. ImageUploadedByH.A.M.B.1450317670.530811.jpg
The injector stacks won't fit without either modifying the stacks or cutting the cowl and windshield...so this gives me an excuse (not a very good one)to not run the injection.lol

I know...I would have to notch the windshield too though...I'm just not a fan of that.

Yeah I get it if you were gonna drive it on the street but a drag car with lexan for the glass it wouldn't bother me a bit plus it looks super kool anyhow the car is looking real good

  25. My temporary intake showed up today still on the fence on what do do about it. I think it would look better with a tunnel ram but eventually it will be injected so I'm not sure if I want to build a temporary tunnel ram or just run it for a season then put the injection on. Time will tell

Kip I'm not sure if the gassers was allowed to cut the windshield back in the day. I know some did but were they NHRA legal. something else you can research for me.

I like the 2 fours Jeff, the short intake looks more old school. But for a little push I'm planning to give a weight break for injectors next year.

We are trying to get our show more era correct, the injectors are more era correct but a lot more of a challenge to run (take's more talent). If course they have to run gasoline, alcohol is easy. We hope the weigh break will encourage more to use them and make our show more like it was back in the day.
