Nice work it does look much better with the curves. You need a fancy pan because everyone can see it with the front wheels hanging in the air.

  3. Not really anything cool been finishing up the throttle linkage and gas pedal. Tonight's project is going to be mounting the remote water pump and plumbing it. I have to get the motor up to the engine builder this weekend so I have to get all the loose ends tied up with it so it can be dynoed when complete. It's a 5hr drive 1 way so that is gonna kill a day this weekend.

  4. who is doing the engine for you? looks great. I hope mine comes out that light.

  5. Well Line Performance was going to do the motor but when I finally got all the parts he is to backed up to do it. So he referred me to his friend up there who is familiar with Cammers and been building motors his whole life. After it gets machined and assembled I am taking it to Lance at Line performance and he's gonna dyno it for me. Lance Line is Jason Line the pro stock drivers brother and they are also big fe ford guys and are very familiar with Cammers also. When I get it back it will be ready to rock.

Quain said to get rid of as much unneeded metal as possible...I hope it doesn't end up too weak.

I want to get the doors back on, to see if I need to box this or if it's sturdy enough.

I also did some more cutting on the doors...

Hey Tony, I stopped over to Jefferys, and he gave me his first good transmission tunnel that he made. It ended up too short for his car, but works fine for mine...if you lived closer you could of snagged it.lol

So about a week ago...Jeffery shoots me a text saying he melted all the lead out of the body seems on his Ford. At first I thought, what a nut.lol
Fast forward a week... I stop over to check on his progress, and to help sort out a spark plug issue. I looked over his seems, and still thought he was crazy. Now last night my cousin came over to look at the empty carcass off a 55 Chevrolet I have, and while we're bench racing I decide that Jefferys not a nut...he's a genius. This is exactly what weight nazis like Don Long would have done back in the day...now my 55 is lead free too.lol

You guys and your weight saving are nuts. I think all the saved weight on these cars are keeping some guys up at night. Making them thing about cutting out nice steel firewalls and Swiss cheesing perfectly good panels. It's just not healthy.

Luckily Quain weighs the car with the driver...I'm no lightweight...think offensive lineman.lol

Plus the lighter it is, the easier it is on driveline parts.

  29. Not a lot of stuff getting done worthy of pictures. But I did get the motor all mocked up and off to the engine builder 5 hrs from my house one way. I also made the rear floor piece for the back seat area. It turned out pretty slick I used the tipping die again to match the front part of the floor. Also on the sides where I put 18 gauge angle to attach the tin and I made the break fade away up by the wheel tub so it looks really clean. Next the rear panel and package tray area

  30. Also got the plug wires made and linkage all done. Wanted to get all that done before I took the motor up to Minnesota so it was all ready for the dyno. One thing I learned is the plugs that I have to run actually stick into the combustion chamber like 3/8" so I have to chuck them up in the lathe and turn the threads off the bottom 1/2". Sounds really easy rite? Well I thought it was so I chucked one of the $10 plugs in the lathe and it grabbed rite away and broke the cutter. for some reason I thought it wasn't tight enough in the chuck so I figured the plug was already broke better figure it out before I try another so I chucked it up again and made a few lite cuts and thought it was going smooth then next thing I know it catches and throws it by my head. So I call the expert machinest Kip and he stops over to give it a try and he notices the end where the electrode bends over actually sticks out a little bit farther than the rest so we are guessing that's what kept catching and throwing it at me. Kinda going to be a pain I will have to turn every plug I put in the motor because if I don't the threads will get messed up and when I pull the plugs out it will wreck the threads in the head
