Many of you probably seen this car on craigslist a week ago for a real low price. The car was spread around Facebook like wild fire and was already sold by the time I seen the add. When I contacted the guy that had the car he said someone was picking it up that night. Out of curiosity I asked him a bunch of questions about the car even though it was sold I just thought the car looked perfect and wanted to know some of its history. The car was his father in laws who had p***ed away and they were going though clean out some of his stuff and most was being sold. He said he would let me know if the deal fell through later that night. That night he sent me a message and said it was gone. So I thanked him for at least keeping me updated. A few days later I still couldn't stop thinking about the car so I sent him another message asking for the new owners contact info so I could see what was going to happen to the car. I did not want it to get parted out and loose the history after all it had survived 55+ years and was still basically a complete car. He sent me the number for the guy and I sat on it for a few days didn't call the new owner until the son in asked me what I found out. So I decided what did I have to loose I wanted to know what was going to happen to that cool car. I sent the guy a tex message asking what his plan was with the car and he said he bought it because it was cool and was probably going to keep it. I told him that was cool just didn't want to see it get tore apart and told him if he wanted to sell it to let me know. I ended the conversation with offer $1000 over what he payed for the car he said he would consider it. 3 days later he accepted my offer so yesterday we went and picked it up. On our way up to get it we were about 45 min form the place to pick it up and the son in law sends me a tex and says the car was listed on Craigslist the night before. And I told him I was on my way to pick it up already so he invites us over after we get the car to check out more parts for the car. So on our way home we met him at his mother in laws house where the car was pulled out of the week before and we find a bunch of old parts for the car. We bought some stuff including the original helmet that matched the car and talked to the mother in law about the car she said that it has been in her husbands family since day one and p***ed around between the bothers over the years. We hang out and talk for a little over an hour and we head back home. On our way out the mother in law comes out with a few old pictures of the car probably form the late s
70s and thanks us for comming by with it. So now I'm on the hunt to find out information on the car. I would like to know where it came from what kind of ch***is it is if anyone has seen it. This is what I know about it we believe Gary Schuh was the original owner. That would have been in the late 50' early 60's we are not sure how old it actually is. Then at some point it was sole to Randy Schuh and might have been p***ed around to some of the other brothers between there. The car was in Van Dyne Wisconsin wich is rite outside Appelton Wisconsin for most of its later life. She said it was raced at Kaukauna and Union Grove Dragway for sure and wasn't sure the other tracks they would have ran at. The motor is a 283 looks to have tri 5 bellhousing with 3 speed transmission and not sure what the rear end is yet. We are not sure what ch***is it is could be a CAE or maybe Lakewood. Still has the hydraulic gas pedal. Chrome suspension is in really nice shape for its age. If anyone can help identify it let me know thanks Jeff 1476025759350.jpg 1476025774079.jpg 1476025787550.jpg 1476025794993.jpg 1476025800444.jpg 1476025805634.jpg 1476025812011.jpg 1476025818844.jpg 1476025826103.jpg 1476025831163.jpg 1476025834883.jpg 1476025838653.jpg 1476025844484.jpg

That thing is BAD *** !
I seen that one tiny picture on Facebook but the add was pulled off Craigslist already by the time I seen it. One heck of a price too and even with your added grand it was still a good deal.
I'm glad you are keeping the history alive.

  15. did you read the text with the pic? sounds like tickety boo has a source for stories and info on the car. it might be worth a call. what happened to the cool old trailer? that would be cool to have or recreate. it might also look good on the rollback you bought.

I just sent the pic to the guy I have been talking to that sold it the first time he has the trailer out back and said it needs work but I can have it also. He also found the original fire suit I'm going to buy from him 1476127751789.jpg 1476127759932.jpg

1-1chr.jpg That is really cool that you have saved that car. You should wear that jacket and face mask in your g***er. Could this be your ch***is?

I still can't believe I got it. I'm really happy I get to be the one that puts it back on the track. I don't think any of them are my ch***is mine is way more simple than the ones in the pic. Only has the double frame rail and the single hoop. And uses I plan to use the coat and face mask in my g***er and the entire suit in the altered.

No one else has any ideas what kind of ch***is this is? I still haven't had any luck getting ahold of the original owner still working on it.
