I just picked up a 4 speed this weekend and now I'm trying to figure out exactly what I have. When I talked to the guy, he said it was a Super T10. I thought it was probably just a regular T10 because I could clearly see the 10 spline input. Then I noticed that it had a 904 main case. I did a little digging and apparently there was an early version of the ST10 with the 10 spline input.
I'm wondering, since it has the 904 main case, could this possibly be a super brute?

Also, I was told after I got there that it was pro shifted. I pulled the cover and it definitely has some wear on the pieces that replace the synchros. My question is, how much wear can it have before it is an issue? I don't know what my plan is for the transmission, I'm just wondering if I have a good transmission or if it needs freshened before anything could be done with it.

    Thanks in advance.

It looks like the aftermarket all cast iron T10 with high nickel gearset that was sold in the late '70s/early '80s. I picked one up cheap at a swap meet due to the fact that the seller thought that, being all cast iron, it was a Saginaw.

I think that’s an aftermarket crash box gearset from the likes of Doug Nash, Liberty etc. in a T10 case

I believe the Super Brute was an all synchro box.

The dogs get worn because of the lack of synchro. They don’t look that bad at all to me. For a road car it’s going to have all the problem of a crash box.

There’s a part number on the 3/4 hub by the looks of it.

I got a pretty good Mr Gasket Vertical Gate shifter also. Would I be shooting myself in the foot to separate the transmission and the shifter? I'm not certain if I'm keeping the transmission or not, but I had definitely planned to sell the shifter. IF I keep the transmission I would be planning to go through and make it more streetable again.
