So close. I struggled all afternoon to fit the Borgedon steering box in the ‘59 T’bird project. Tricky trying to do it alone as it has to go in from the top and then held while the three bolts go I down behind the wheel. I finally got it hanging on two drift punches and the bottom bolt, but the end of the box hits the frame rail, leaving the other two holes a couple of millimeters misaligned. ****. I’m beat tonight, tomorrow I’ll pull box back out, heat the top of the frame where it interferes and get it ****oned up. Nothing is easy.
Ooo, look at that steering box. It’s got a long steering arm shaft. Long enough for use as a cowl steering setup. Oops, sorry I know that topic is kind of controversial… Anyway, if you turn the column clockwise as you look down it towards the box, what direction does the pitman arm shaft turn? Many people would like to know…
I learned a long time ago that you have to earn every inch of progress. Hang in there, you'll get it and it will be worth it.
