I originally made a post last Friday looking for help on figuring out why the front axle tire alignment was so far off on my 34 when I picked the car up I posted the pictures of the rear coilovers falling apart many members of this forum contacted me and wanted to know the name of the shop that performed the work

Today while I Was preparing to file a complaint with a state regulatory agency they asked me to send as many pictures as I could of the work after seeing the brake master it confirmed. I need to get this information out because anyone who has had a vehicle at that shop needs to be cautious, someone could get seriously hurt or worse driving a vehicle like this. I don't know much about cars but I know this work isn't safe

History ......my father a World War II veteran bought this car when he came home from the service he and my mother drove this car on their wedding day my brother and I played Al Capone countless hours in the garage on the running boards countless parades and family pictures with this car my grandson also sits in the front seat and plays in this car

This car has been a part of our family for 70 years

My mother and father have long since passed away however my father's sisters are 91 and 95 years old I brought the car to the shop was I wanted it to be a little more streetable and safe so I could take them out for ice cream on Christmas 2023

Knowing all of this Robert Yonkee at Traffic Jams Speeds Shop in Genoa City Wisconsin performed the work shown in these pictures as well as left my car sitting outside with no hood on it and a trash bag over the carburetor getting rained in and on for 3 weeks 1689634372538354113465191521592.jpg 1689634558603961223281508454501.jpg 16896346103721889263618436512876.jpg 16896346955841265233218560489363.jpg 1689634802149420026603974808196.jpg 16896349485176887658589409200004.jpg 16896350024227149134594074852929.jpg 16896355736814535261942666366312.jpg 16896356460643253140539954639332.jpg

Ya that upper mount is what broke that coil over. What a hack job! Sorry this happened to you and your car!

Sorry for your bad work on the car.

    Your profile says Chicago.

There are a number of shops capable of doing this type of work, in your area.

Just curious, why you went to Wisconsin to get the work performed.

Was it the $50.00 HR labor rate, or were they recommended to you?

That labor rate should have been a big red flag.

My labor rate in Chicago is Three times that.

Sorry again for the issue you are in.

Can you take a pic of dudes invoice for the work performed and post it up. I can't wait to see the "description" of what has been done.

If you read it on the internet, it Must Be True!!
Don't believe everything you read as being gospel.

Yes there is one bad review on Google in 40 years of business.

The particular customer actually filed a complaint with the Illinois Attorney General, and after their review of the documents and photographic evidence, I provided, they sided with me and denied his claim.
Once something is on the net, its there forever, true or not.

Only so some lock nuts can be fitted ...... LOL.
What a POS, I couldn't imagine anyone doing work like that.
Hacking up the crossmember, trying to birdshit weld over a rusty, dirty rear end housing. I don't believe what I'm seeing ..... I hope that you can get some resolution.

It's been a long time since I saw an obvious mess that was that bad and obviously freshly done.

Seeing the first thread on this car just made me angry. Seeing more of it just makes me sick. Maybe some of you fellow H.A.M.B. 'ers out there can guide this gentleman and his car to the right shop in his area to make this right. Many of us know what it's like to be taken advantage of, and we certainly know what it's like to have a car that becomes part of our family. Let's try and help this guy out. Tom

That’s truly amazing work. I cannot imagine putting that mess on the road. I cannot imagine putting my name on that work.

  18. There's something to be said about his Detail work! Too bad it isn't anything good. Didn't you look at any of his work before you paid the bill and tried to drive it? I'd have made a Dust Ball in his shop with his coveralls while he was in them.

  19. This dangerous disaster type work seams to be more and more common now days not just only on older hot rod cars from this site but muscle cars as well. YouTube is loaded with Videos about this problem Uncle Tony's Garage has a new one every week

    “Chicago” is a big place.

I have a friend with a shop that could fix this, but it won’t be any time soon. Everyone that can do good work is backed up already, and summer is when everyone wants their car back on the road as quickly as possible. He’s a couple hours southwest from actual Chicago.

Hell, that guy is a master craftsman compared to the one that did a front clip on a 50 Ford pickup we got in. Had a 455 Olds torque monster that he had been driving for two years. Owner asked if we could "clean up" the welds a bit before dropping in an LS.

Holy *rap! I don‘t know what would make me more angry, the fact he messed up my family‘s survivor 34 , the crappy craftmanship or the fact he thinks he should be payed for his actions instead of being dragged behind a bumper…

  25. Did you ask around before choosing this shop ? It is no different than inquiring about re-modeling your house. Get several recommendations. several quotes, and former customers to see what they have to say. It is your money, spend it wisely.

  28. This takes the cake, out of all the hatchet jobs I've seen here, this is appalling. I have worked in shops where time and $$ were first and foremost, quality and safety were non existent.
