And, right after that pic…it didn’t want to start. Thankfully, Sid’s worker just pulled up in the 54 210 he just bought and had jumper cables. So, we were on our way again. Decided to skip the car wash until I figure out some more things.

Does appear that all the gauges work, so bonus there. No turn signals though.

That’s why I keep an antique tag that I pulled off of a car I sold years ago. All I do is pop it on and good to go, it’s registered to me and is still good but if you’re just testing something out, getting fuel, or whatever it works if you’re pulled over. Nine times out of ten they will not mess with you unless you’re doing a hole shot or something stupid

Yea, I almost pulled the tag off the 56 and threw it on there right up until I remembered I didn’t renew it yet this year…. Living in the same small town for more than 30 years helps me stay out of trouble too.

Hmm...a friend and fellow HAMBer just tripped across these on Marketplace. Seems they could solve my problem. They are listed as 5 on 5.5 but pretty sure that is incorrect. Trying to get a phone number.

Update: Just talked to him on the phone and hoping he has them tomorrow when I could go see them.

Also, don't they appear to be 5 on 4.5" to you guys? Just appear to be a real small pattern and same as the original style wheels for this car.

I mean, my eye-cromiter is not calibrated for pics, but there’s an F1 cab sitting behind the wheels indicating the higher likelihood of them being 5.5 early Ford and F100 pattern

have the guy measure and send a pic of the tape

He said they are off that truck, but I'm 99% sure that they don't look like 5x5.5 just as far as the spread on the holes.

The only way you can tell if they’re not 5 on 5.5 is use a scale rule and measure the bolt pattern and compare it to the measurements of the overall wheel or the hubcap portion of the wheel. That will get you close.

After a little careful measuring of the photo and some high school math, I came up with 4.50". Assuming they're 15" wheels, you're good to go. To tell the truth, they looked right to me from the start.

He measured and we were right on 4.5” pattern. Something about looking at wheels at swap meets for years has helped calibrate my eyes… :p

I carry one of these with me at swap meets. I find it easier than the round disk.

That's a great looking tool. Is it smaller than the disc or just easier to use?

For me it's easier to use, but not as small as a disc.

I also have a couple of those tools above and they are great! Good to keep in the truck for marketplace or swap meet wheel hunting.

Those rascals are damn near a perfect match for your car!! By the way is that the factory color for it? If it is then it’s Hawthorne Green like my woody. I have the paint code for it in PPG and DuPont both of them are base coat. IMG_3419.jpeg

Man, that’s a beautiful car! And, yes, he was trying to match the original color so guessing they are the same. I would be interested in that paint code to compare to the paperwork she sent me a few days ago.

And, I paid more for the wheels and tires than I would have wanted to. But, it was also kind of hitting the easy button since the paint on them is likely close enough to not even mess with when full wheel covers are over the majority of them.

Oh yea… Maybe I can get it lowered tomorrow evening. Now, I just need to decide on wheel covers or maybe find some different ones?
