I owned the car before and bought it back from the guy i sold it to. He did nothing to the car so im back at the part where i left off....i put an old style 350 4 bolt main in it with a 400 turbo transmission in it. has the driveshaft and rear end...car runs and moves still. I need some interior for it..like front seats, carpet, doorpanels, headliner, and i need windshield and both door windows (remember i have a 2 door) the back windows are fine. i'd like to find the lens that go on the grille.. im missing mine...any suggestions on the build would be helpful i will have pics up tomorrow of it.
Dude, you should fill out your profile so we know where you are at. I have a bunch of '53 and '54 stuff around and probably have an extra set of lenses if you need em. In fact, this weekend I went and helped a buddy of mine pick up a '54 2-dr sedan that we are going to put one of my extra '53 front clips on. He really wanted a '53 and the price on this '54 was too good to p*** up. Here's a pick from this weekend and a photoshop of what I would like to do to my car. HAMBChop anyone??? Hey Rat Rodder, if you're asking me, Lonnie paid $500 for the '54 2-dr sedan I think. I paid $850 for my hardtop and drove it home from Des Moines to Ames. A trip of about 25 miles. The guy that had it before primered it gray and had his kid paint all the trim black without masking anthing. It was a real mess to clean up. Here's a pic from when it came home.
Damn thats Good!!! Over here those 53-54 chevy are going for a pretty penny... I aways wanted a 53-54 but their everywhere!.. so im kinda leaning to a 49-52 4 door chop... Heres a 50 chevy 4 door, that i photoshoped...I want something like this...
hey 53Chebby how much for the lenses? today i took the front bumper off and the grille and took the p***enger side fender off, started sanding it down and welded the seam on the bottom up ground that all down, and got that back on. my car has a 350 in it so i started workin on that too. I built the motor thats in it but it has sat for 4 years not run once, just turned over. I'm off to buy a new carb for it tomorrow and get it running and pull it and repaint it. Please let me know on those little round lenses that go in the grille. My plans for the grille is to flat black the grille and have the 3 teeth be rechromed and have the bumper flat back with the push bars rechromed.
53 Chebby If he is just replacing the front clip, I would be willing to buy the grille bar/teeth and parking light ***emblies from him. He could recoupe some of his initial costs that way. Have him e-mail me with the particulars (price) Thanks! Mike
heres a progress picture of my 53 4 door. We took 6 1/8 inches out of the front pillers and sloped it big in the back. Most of you guys are new enough to not have a clue about the Rockstars with Torquewrenches. Sailor and I started this tongue in cheek "club" here on the HAMB several years back when we realized there are a boatload of us with 53/54 Chevys. It is nice to have a support network of guys that have parts cars and resources! 53chebby, that would be a cool chop on your 53.

I've had my 'RWT' stickers on my dresser since i got em from Tman.. I still don't have window's to stick em on!! But it will, soon.....and ya can bet the'll be on it Rat..

Hey guys, got a couple of pm's from you all. I just got back in town from the holiday and will talk to Lonnie about what he wants for the grille. If some of you are looking for teeth I have two more sets that I picked up for him when he thought he was gonna run the '54 grille. I also know where there is a pretty nice grille and parking lenses, but the guy wants like $250 bucks for the bar, teeth and ends. The ends aren't all that great either. So total I can probably get my hands on about four sets of teeth. I will PM those of you that PM'ed me tomorrow, little tired right now.
