Jim B and I left Knoxville under cloudy skies but rain wasn't forecast between Ktown and BG till late afternoon. We thought for sure we would make the trip before the rain hit, but it didn't matter we were going come hell or high water. Boy did we get the water! Several hours in the bottom fell out, usually not a problem, but Jim's roadster has no top and my coupe has no side windows, wipers, or defogger. We thought heck were already a little wet lets just push on ,that worked for a mile or two until we had no choice but to stop due to poor visibility even daily driver types were pulling over. The first pic shows conditions we started in, the second shows my view through the windshield that forced us to get off the hwy. But all ended well the rain finally stopped we got to Beach Bend and a good time was had seeing old friends and meeting new ones. Attached are a few pics of some cars I liked.
Thanks for the pics. I had planned on going, but my back went out about 3-weeks ago and I couldn't be hobbling around with a cane in the heat & humidity, in pain. Next year, God willing !
Here are a few more cars I liked. If I didn't show your car it doesn't mean I didn't think it picture worthy, sometimes I would get so caught up in looking at the car I actually forgot to take a picture or could not get a shot because of the crowd around it. The Hot Rod Reunion is a great event but to me the most enjoyable part of any car event is you and your friends driving hot rods to it! Can't help but smile when driving a roadster The usual suspects our traveling companion Ryan's bitchin Comet Cyclone
Thanks for the great pics. Agree with your comment about driving to the shows in a hot rod. Great fun, even if it rains and you are driving a roadster. It always quits raining and the sun comes out!!!
Isn't it nice that guys don't get upset and each other for wearing the same outfit? sent from my toilet
Thanks for the wide array of stellar vintage material @garage2small. You and Jim's rides looks fantastic and performed well it seems. I really like the chrome shell on the deuce roadster. Great eye too...
Great shots, what year is the pick up? The outfits seem to be pretty standard and I don't see any white tennis shoes. Looks like a great time!
Thanks for the pics , That Blue Fordoor looked like it had a lot of neat mods,Would love to see more of it,Thanks Lucky
The pickup is a 37 cab with 38 Deluxe car front fenders, hood, etc. The blue 4 dr was very well done, near Riddler quality.
The Shadetree bunch (Chuck, Bill, Gary) missed our friend William, but had a great time. Cool cars, good racing and lots of new friends. Weather was great (hot in the sun) but a breeze was blowing most of the day Fri/Sat.
Great to finally meet you too Enloe. Hope you had a good Fathers Day, if every kid had a dad like you I'm sure there would be a lot more hot rods on the road!
Great pics, thanks for sharing them. Even though we walked around for 3 days it never fails, I missed all kinds of great cars...
Damn...ive never been much of a T fan, at least not concerning Fad Ts, but damn...those two Ts are bad ass...really like the one with the SBC, everything about this car is cool...glad to see the T guys are doing a more traditional hotrod look and getting away from the fad look...I like it.
