I'm removing the horn ring and steering wheel on my '60 wagon to fix the horn and turn signal pawls. I've got three of those weird bow tie shaped headed screws holding it on. Where can I buy a driver to remove them? There's a bunch of these type fasteners all over the car in different sizes. They're a pain in the ***, what the hell was GM thinking?

I modified a large flat head screwdriver with some creative grinding and it works pretty well, although most of the clutch head screws were hardly tight, the ones that were tight easily came out with a pair of pliers and a good grip. I replaced all of the old screws with hex head ones.

Are these the same type of fastener that holds the secondary metering plate in place on older Holleys?

They are wierd, but I just di***embled a 50 year old chevy and not a single one of those things stripped. while all philips head screws had to be ground off.

Most of the super cheap (read: Harbor Freight) screwdriver bit sets around here have a few different sizes of them...

Snap On should carry them too.
I didn't look but I bet McMaster Carr has them.

Both can be ordered on line.
