I went to Louisville this past weekend. Met **** Reynolds and a couple of others (sorry guys, I forgot your screen names - but the T with boat interior was cool). I enjoyed talking to these guys and hated I had to leave so soon. On the flip side, I met a few other HAMBers who were ***es. Maybe they were just drunk? Oh well. Out of all those cars the one that knocked me out was Boyd's "beater" T coupe. Traditional looking car in red oxide primer sitting on a ch***is that looked like it was built for fast corners. Anyone have any pics of that car? Everytime I got around it there were so many people around the truck that I couldn't get a good pic. JH
It was good to meet you too Harrison I had the T down there. This is the only pic I got of the Boyd T, I really dug it as well, except for the quarter window change, but it was far from a ratrod, especially the interior, all it needed was paint to be a finished rod.
I am sure I was an ***! Maybe not, I don't recall if I met you or not. I missed **** Reynolds though.
Come on guys, there must be someone who has some more pictures of the T. I can't believe that Boyd has come over to the dark side. Maybe there is some money to be made, in that case I'd believe it. Frank
Is this the end of the world as we know it? Damn, I just took out my billet column too... I heard some discussion of a build off? What's the whole story? Did Boyd build it or did his "team" build it. Is this just like the Biker Build off for Discovery?
I'm glad to see a talented builder like Boyd is getting back to rodding. Mebbe he'll sell the biz and buy a barn, be an angry little hermit. He can turn out cars like Vern. Well, mebbe not LIKE Vern's, but close. -Crew
Chad, they each had their group when they stood up in front for the voting results. I ***ume it was a bit of a build team for each. Sounded very much like biker build off to me. Maybe Rizzo or JimA will sound off if he gets back to a computer. Rizzo said he drove out with them. I can't blame Boyd for putting a decent interior in his car if they did indeed drive them from California. I don't think I would want to do that on an old bomber seat.
My take is that if he paints it, maybe he's getting into traditional rods, if he keeps it in primer its an attempt to break into the "rat rod niche" as they probably see it as. Just my opinion, nothing more.
That's cool. Maybe it will end up on TV then. What was the other car? BTW, Sunday morning I was driving down 65 to Lebanon to work on my coupe and I counted 37 cars (over my 3 hour drive) heading North from the Nats. Of the 37, 5 were traditional. Also of the 37, 3 were on trailers (80s Deuce roadster, flat black "traditional" Deuce 5 window with whitewalls and striping) and a stock 39 Ford Tudor). It was like my own personal "cruise".

cool meeting you also Harrison,,and Nick32vic and of course seing the other HAMBurglers ive meet before. i really wanted to see your truck Plowboy, ****s missing it! i kept hearing the comercials for the Nats on the radio and it was saying "come see the RAT RODS built by boyd coddington" i thought it was a mistake or something,but aparently not! i was busy crusing around my new RAT ROD untill the cops busted me! ****ers,made me park it!
I was able to get this picture of the "Primered-Mega-Dollar-HotRod" by Botd. I talked with Mike and Duane from Boyds, and Mike told me that "This was a Boyd-Build-Off, Mike's PU againsts Boyd's T. They were having folks cast votes to determain who had the "Best Beater". Don't get me wrong, the "T" is very cool, and I'd love to drive it. Duane says it handles great and rides very good too. Mike told me that his truck runs good (after intial issues were fixed) and rides and drives great. They both used Pete & Jakes ch***is and suspensions, with Posies cross spring rear ends, etc. They had to build both car and truck in 8 days! I'll bet it will be a show this fall, with all of the TV cameras everywhere around them all the time all weekend.
i can't see anything from those guys being considered a beater or a "rat rod" ...i told them i wouldn't vote for either one....whats next .....rusty old billets...? lol brandon

Somrthing I thought was funy, was that somebody put a flier for another show in the seat of the Alumitub. I am wondering if they did not realize who's it was or if they thought he might actually come. It could have been as a joke as well.
