Its better than my roadster, too. Wait...I don't even have one....quick, sombody give me a roadster! ( I'll even take a sub-par one...)
I doubt anyone is hating....but they are trying to tell you that your new 32 is a modified model A. Just be grateful for the info, and be thankful that you didn't embar*** yourself in public or anything........ Sorry, couldn't resist.......but it is a very nice car, and you didn't get hurt in the wallet at all.
Thats not a 27 T frame either, its styled after a 32 Frame(looks custom built to me, but nicely done) THE BODY IS 30-31 MODEL A !!!! WITHOUT A DOUBT END OF CONVERSATION THERE!!! Grill shell is 32 Ford, so is dashboard. You can ***le anything as a 32 Ford, that doesnt mean its really a 32 Ford. NICE CAR though!!!!. BUT NOT a 32 Ford, it was still a great price! you did NOT get hurt on that deal.
I agree that it is an A body but the frame looks like it started out the same as that heavy ***ed frame that was under my phonebooth (for lack of a better term) T truck cab. No matter what it was someone did a lot of tweaking on those rails to get them like that. Good looking car and it looks like it was a damned good deal for the asking price.
It's not a duece frame, it's missing the reveal, and the graceful curves. I don't think it's a T frame either, if it is, it's been highly modified.
Yeah, that's def. not a '32 frame, interesting though. Pic 3 shows good detail and the missing reveal. It sounds like you didn't get much of the history or story of this car and it sounds like this guy owned it for a long time. I'd call him back and ask him for more history. And he might be able to tell you why it was reg. as a '32.
If it's a '32 frame someone did a hell of a job beating the reveal out of it. Although I'll agree the from horns look '32...
Somebody might have just stamped an 18- vin on the frame maybe to match a reg. or ***le they already had for a 32 in order to get it registered .
I saw this post yesterday, but I wasn't going to be the one to tell him!! But it is a nice car for the money. Enjoy it!!
Would you frame experts please go back and read post #54. And no it's not a 32, but it is a damned nice car. Congrats, wish I had it.
bottom line; it's a nice looking car , if you like it and it does all the right things ,like starting, stopping, steering, and running cool, not a lot to do but drive the living **** out of it and enjoy your new ride;enjoy and don't get caught up in alot of **** about how it ain't this or that.It probably is registered as a 32 but that doesn't mean that the body is a 32, it means the car was licensed as a 32 probably because someone had a valid 32 ***le from a destroyed 32, and used it to ***le this car with the vin numbers stamped into the frame in the location the DMV expects to see them on a 32. the inspectors for the DMV are not necessarily car savvy to the point of recognizing a frame by year just by looking at it. Waldo
its a nice car, nothing wrong with a 30-31. If you find out it really is a 32, let me know 'cause then I have one too!
I agree with Jim,who cares what the **** it is...its bad***,the price was right and he has a cool driver...32s are over rated anyway....

I'm aware of transition models and while I don't think this is one, there's a chance it could be. And as noted earlier, helluva nice car and I'd take it home with me posthaste....
Well, I do not know what you guys are all spun up about. When I drive my 28 Model a SEDAN to the gas station, I have people ask me if it is a 32 roadster. I also have some ask if it is a dune buggy? But the point is that they look and enjoy even if they have no idea what it is. I too want a roadster.........who cares what year it is?
This thread is a good example of Brian's "How to change a headlight" post. It is a nice roadster and I like A's over 32's but I would feel sick if I bought a roadster thinking it is a 32 and finding out it is just a lowly A. Better finding out here than at a car show. Good luck with the roadster. It is a roadster, isn't it? Neal
A beautiful car, very well built and history to boot. What's not to love about this car. Most on here would have jumped on it for the same price knowing it was an A. Okay, so maybe the OP is a little confused and don't know exactly what he has. Some of you guy's need to go eat a bran muffin.
