It's been awhile since I wrote in so I thought some might like to know what happened last Saturday. We took my car to Ozark Int'l Raceway (outside Rogersville, MO. This is a 1000 foot track. Arriving about 2PM, had an interesting discussion with the track owner who said we couldn't run "NO-E" because we had an unfair advantage as we "could see the front wheels" ? I didn't see how that worked, but, OK ! we switched to "Trophy" cl***. We made three time trials, then some poor unfortunate soul with a T altered got sideways on the burnout and took out the stage lights. That stopped everything cold for about three hours. Then we marked a time of 7.30 on the tire and went to do battle. Shortening this up, six p***es later we owned the cl***. I now have a trophy sitting here for 1st place. I wouldn't mention this except this and the HAMB piston are the only wins on the car since the 60's. It was a tight time getting the car towed back, cooled, then towed up to the start line. I'm glad my cooling tower worked or we would have had to forfeit. OK, we had one "bye" run so Gerald really legged it. Starting with a nice wheelstand, had a 60 foot time of 1.30 and a 1/8 mile of 5.61 @ 124.75 and a 1000 foot time of 7.32 @ 142.00. There were seven 1/8 mile ETs in the 5.6s and five 1000 foot times in the 7.3s. The car was really running.
